Liquid Rhinoplasty
While the shape of your nose is usually the result of heredity, the appearance may have been altered in an injury or during prior surgery. A liquid rhinoplasty, or nonsurgical rhinoplasty, is the injection of dermal fillers into the nose to alter its shape. It’s a great option for patients that have isolated deformities of their nose, such as a dorsal hump or minor asymmetries.
Am I a Good Candidate for this procedure?
You are a good candidate for liquid rhinoplasty if:
Your facial growth is complete and you are 13 years of age or older
You are physically healthy
You stop smoking
You have specific, but realistic goals in mind for the improvement of your appearance
Considering Rhinoplasty
Liquid Rhinoplasty can be a great option for those who have had a rhinoplasty in the past and have minor irregularities postoperatively. This procedure is good for patients who want minor bumps smoothed out. This procedure will increase the overall size of the nose as it is an injection with fillers, so this is not ideal for nose reduction.
A nonsurgical rhinoplasty is also a great option for those that want instant results, may not be able to afford a surgical rhinoplasty, and cannot take a significant time off of work.
Personal Consultation
Your plastic surgeon will explain in detail the technique, risks, and complications. Preoperative photos will be taken for your medical record.
Liquid Rhinoplasty is not for patients who are looking for a nose reduction or to correct breathing problems.
How Will My Plastic Surgeon Evaluate Me?
In your initial consultation your plastic surgeon will evaluate your face, including the skin and underlying bone, and discuss your goals for the surgery.
The Procedure
The procedure takes around 15 minutes. The results are immediate and you can even return to work the same day.
The Results
The results of a liquid rhinoplasty are temporary and can be used to test surgical rhinoplasty results without the expense or medical leave. Results can last up to two years.
